RIP, Earl Weaver

Baseball lost one of its biggest winners recently, as Earl Weaver passed away at the age of 82. The longtime Baltimore Orioles skipper abhorred bunting, played for the three-run homer and agitated umpires with cap-spinning, dirt-kicking, full-throated fury belying his Napoleon-esque frame. Weaver compiled a 1,480-1,060 record in 17 seasons with the O's, good for the ninth-highest winning percentage (.583) all-time among major league managers.

In honor of the salty sabermetric pioneer, here are the batters who have hit the most Earl Weaver Specials during the Pitch F/X era. Mark Reynolds has blasted a MLB-high 24 three-run homers since the beginning of the 2008 season. Ryan Howard, Adam Dunn and Alfonso Soriano have also given Earl plenty to smile about:
