Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 1:59PM In what turned out to be the deciding hit in Game One of the World Series, Juan Uribe blasted a 5th inning Darren O'Day fastball into the left field seats at AT&T Park for a 3-run HR.
O’Day started Uribe out with two sliders that ended up way outside of the zone. He then came in on Uribe with a fastball.
Juan Uribe's 5th Inning PA - World Series Game OneUribe loves the ball in. Since 2008, in 138 plate appearances decided by pitches thrown from a RHP to the lower inside part of the plate, Uribe has batted .378/.370/.770, with a .491 wOBA and 13 HRs.
Juan Uribe In Play ISO & SLG since 2008As you can see, O’Day put the ball right in Uribe’s power zone. Although he isn’t the most dangerous hitter in the Giants lineup, if you miss down and in to Uribe, he’ll make you pay.
